Parliamentary Bills
A Parliamentary Bill is a legislative proposal before the House of Representatives.
They go through several readings before they become law (act).
Supplementary Order paper (SOP)
Detail amendments to bills that are put to the House of Representatives
to consider.
Acts
Once the royal assent is given, the bill becomes an Act. Acts are normally
printed in order of Assent and are available within 10 days.
Regulations
Regulations are legislation made under delegated powers from Parliament.
Generally most of New Zealand's legislation is made by way of the delegated
legislation process, such as regulations or Orders-in-council.
